SAMi Router Kit vs. Complete Kit
The SAMi Complete Kit is the best option for you if you only have Android devices in your household. The SAMi Camera only runs on Apple iOS devices that run iOS 12 or newer at this time. For a list of compatible devices, you can view this list. 

If you already have an Apple iOS device (iPad, iPod, or iPhone) that runs iOS 12 or newer and understand you must leave the app open and running to receive alerts, then you do not need to purchase the SAMi Complete Kit. 

SAMi Router Kit vs. Camera-Only
If you have a compatible Apple iOS device and have extremely reliable home internet that doesn't lose connection, then you can choose to purchase just the SAMi Camera. The SAMi Camera is fully operational with your home WiFi and personal Apple iOS device. However, there are some major benefits to the SAMi Router Kit which includes:

256-bit AES encryption: One of the most secure encryption methods widely used to keep data safe (compared to other monitors at 128-bit encryption). Includes the option to add additional password protection.

SAMi Kits operate on an offline closed monitoring environment. This means to even attempt breaking our encryption, someone attempting to gain access to your SAMi Camera would need to be physically on-site.

The SAMi Secure Router enables up to 1000 sq ft of coverage. Generally we recommend placing the SAMi Camera within 40 feet of the SAMi Router. We then recommend the apple device remain within 60 feet of the SAMi Router. This can vary slightly depending on your home environment.

Remote Monitoring
You can also monitor remotely by connecting the SAMi Camera to your Home Wi-Fi network. This allows you to monitor from anywhere in the world, as long as you have cell service or access to Wi-Fi.

Local Storage (Camera + apple device):
Your most recent 5000 minutes of recordings are saved to a micro SD card (included!) within the SAMi Camera. This SD card can be easily removed if you wish to transfer recordings direclty to your computer using a card reader.

These recordings are then automatically transfered to the SAMi app on your apple device anytime the app is running and can be easily saved, locked, or shared directly from within the app!
